Knight Nate and the Caterpillar
Once upon a time, there was a caterpillar eating its way through an apple. It was a magic caterpillar. Out in the field, the apple it was in was in an apple tree. So Knight Nate went out in the field and he picked up the caterpillar and he went and showed his mom. And she put it in a jar. And they looked it up and found out it was a sluglike caterpillar. When it became a butterfly they let it go.

What is Astronomy?

Nate’s Narration of Chapter 1 “What is Astronomy?”
What is Astronomy? Learning about space and about stars
Why did God create the Universe? for
Why did God make the moon and the stars? For calendars and for light
What are constellations?
What are compasses for? For knowing the way to North and East
What do birds use for a compass? The stars
What do birds do in the spring and fall? In fall they go south and in spring they go north
Tell me about the Christmas star? It was a sign from God for the wise men. (what did it tell them?) To go to Bethlehem and see Baby Jesus.
How can you tell what you see in the night sky is a star and not a planet? When you go outside and you see something that is twinkling it is a star. When you go out and you see something that is not twinkling it is a planet.
Tell me about the stars that move fast across the sky? They are meteors and they are called “shooting stars”
What is the force that pulls on the earth? Gravity
What do the other planets do for the earth? They go around the sun so the earth won’t totter
What is the solar system? All the planets and the sun
What has the most gravity? The sun
What would happen if the earth was heavier? It would be pulled to the sun
What would happen if we were closer to the sun? We would burn
How many planets are in our solar system? 9
Who was Copernicus? He believed the earth moved around the sun
Who was Galileo? He invented telescopes and proved that the planets moved around the sun
What is a telescope? Something you look at to see planets
What is the Hubble Space Telescope?
What is a satellite?
What are the two types of satellites?
What are some of the jobs satellites do?

The Fair
This week we went to the fair. And I liked two of the rides, called the Ferris Wheel and the boats. And we saw a animal-hunting zoo with sleeping animals. And there was different animals at the petting zoo. And we got cotton candy. And we all got to eat it after the day we went to the fair. We got our picture taken with a big pumpkin. And we went to the house and took a nap. And after the time we went to the petting zoo with Lizzie, and then we saw all the rides. And that's all. The End!
